Missions

Vidalia First United Methodist Church shows concern for our neighbors both locally and in far away areas of the world. Some of the areas that we offer assistance in are: The Methodist Children's Home, Vashti, Wesley Glen, Salvation Army, Habitat for Humanity, and we sponsor a Foster Children's Day Camp in the summer.

We contribute to the support of several missionaries. Missionaries supported are David and Jennifer Thompson - Peru, and David and Sue Pak - South Korea. In recent years, adult work teams have had hands-on experience in Central and South America. During the summer, we have a work team for youth and adults who go to a needy area in the Southeastern United States.

Habitat for Humanity has started a house in our community. The Mission Comm. would like to have a list of volunteers who would be willing to help a neighbor, by helping build this house. Contact Robert Wilkerson 538-7741 or church office. Construction has begun already (framing). We would like to have several teams from our church.

MAY MISSION PROJECT

We will be collecting bingo prizes for Concerted Services. This includes toiletry items, food items (Lance crackers, Debbie Cakes), and small decorative items (plaques, figurines, etc.) Please leave items in church office. We will collect the entire month of May. Thanks for your support!
